“The value of a picture is not proportionate to the trouble and expense it costs to obtain it, but to the poetry that it contains.”

About
My name is Rosalind O’Dell and I use photography to transform a lived experience into a memorable representation. I enjoy collecting, curating, editing, sequencing and publishing my images, all the facets of the genre. In the pursuit of photographs that become art, I use my Practice to express my feelings and perceptions at pivotal moments and places. The images I treasure most translate into unique and personal photobooks and beautiful prints for my individual home. Some captures illustrate short ‘stories’ which reflect my wanderings and inspirations. But essentially, my passion is finding an aesthetic which shares a vision, holds memories and always speaks from the heart.
I live with my Partner, Gary, a photographic artist, in a nineteenth century estate cottage in a Northamptonshire hamlet. Together we have been seeking out photogenic locations around the UK and beyond for more than 15 years. Through the lens we have discovered intimate parts of Venice, unspoiled Spanish mountain villages, unbelievably romantic Greek islands and the rustic provinces of Southern France. We have met fabulous people, artists and artisans along the way.
I look forward to sharing some of the ‘keepsakes’ from these ‘photosteps’ with you.
